Dean Benton Biography
Dean offers a very unique background in terms of knowledge, skill set and experience. He is well-versed at both ends of the theory-practice and the science-coaching spectrum.
World-wide, Dean has worked very successfully across Olympic and professional sport. With Olympic sports this has been has been with the Australian Institute of Sport, Queensland Academy of Sport and Athletics Australia.
Club team experience has been Brisbane Broncos, Adelaide Crows, Leicester Tigers, Brumbies Rugby, Racing Club Narbonne Méditerranée and Melbourne Storm.
With national federations this includes Fédération Française de Rugby, Japan Rugby, England Rugby and Rugby Australia.
Dean Benton has an extensive sporting background playing Australian Rules football and as a sprinter in professional athletics. As a result of this Dean has a reputation for preparing athletes holistically for the running demands for all football and rugby codes.
Throughout this journey, Dean has been able to move along the coaching-management continuum, functioning effectively either as a coach, performance director or performance consultant.
Dean has a world class coaching skill set as it relates enhancing running development. Specifically, speed as it relates to team sports, which includes the analysis of running, interpretation and coaching applications.
